My Completed Piece of Cake 3 Quilt
Wow! Where have November gone! I can not believe there’s only one day left of November. This school term have been crazy busy with lots of school events and birthday parties. I did manage to finish my Piece of Cake 3 quilt for my 7 years old daughter’s birthday this month. Quilting is not perfect but a big improvement compared with my first 2 quilts. My daughter loves her quilt and started using it as soon as it was dry :).
More info and photos of this quilt can be found at these past blog posts:
Quilt Details:
- Finished size is 60″ x 71″
- Pieced and quilted by me
- Binding was done by sewing machine (binding sewn to back first then front of quilt)
- Piece of Cake 3 pattern by Camille Roskelley available at Thimble Blossoms
- Fabric used is a layer cake of CHERRY ON TOP by Keiki
I have decided to link up with Sew Cute at Blossom Heart Quilts, Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? at Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Finish it up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts and TGIFF.
Hi Jenn, Your quilt looks lovely, I can see why a 7 yr old girl would want to start using it as soon as it is out of the dryer! You need to show us more pictures, though (and bigger) so we can see the texture from up close. Well done!
Thanks Dominique :). You can see a slightly bigger view of the current photos by clicking on them :).
Thanks for the tip about more photos and more close up ones :). I am new to quilting and was in a hurry so only managed to take 2 photos. Next quilt I will take heaps and some close up ones :).
Looks just great, not surprised your daughter loves it, quilts are the best gift 😀
Thanks ChrissieD :). I agree about quilts being the best gift :). My hubby and son now wants me to make them a quilt each :). Chance for more practice :).
I’m not surprised your 7 year old snatched it up right away! Great job! That backing is perfect for it too! Thanks for linking up to TGIFF!
Thank you M-R :). I don’t know any info about the backing fabric. My daughter chose it because it reminded her of My Little Pony :).
I love this quilt. The fabrics are lovely and so cheerful. No wonder your daughter wanted it asap. I just found your blog while I was visiting Confessions of a Fabric Addict.
Thanks Lea :). And thanks for visiting my blog :).
