I have been trying to finish some WIPs that I have neglected my Farmer’s Wife Sampler quilt. I have recently finished my youngest daughter’s quilt so I took a break to make Block #30 End of Day :). Here are my 15 blocks so far for Farmer’s Wife Sampler quilt. Except for one block, they were all made by foundation paper piecing. I am linking this blog post with Stitch by Stitch’s Anything Goes Monday (28th Oct 2013), Blossom Heart Quilts’ Sew Cute (29th Oct 2013), Freshly Pieced’s WIP Wednesday (30th Oct 2013), Quiet Play’s Paper Piecing party (1st Nov 2013). You can find out more information for both here: Now back to quilting/finishing my other daughter’s quilt...

Finally found some time this week to paper piece Block 77 Seasons for my Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt. I must be out of practice as some of the yellow pieces were cut slightly too small. Hopefully there is enough seam allowance there when I piece all the blocks together :). I have decided to join in Kristy’s Paper Piecing Party on her blog – Quiet Play. For more information about her Paper Piecing Party, please visit her blog here: Hoping to find some time to paper piece more blocks for my FWS quilt next week :)....

This week I decided to attempt block 4 Basket Weave by cutting out the pieces using a rotary cutter. Not perfect but I’m happy with it :). I went back to Foundation Paper piecing for Block 31 Evening Star. I think I will stick with the Foundation Paper piecing method for most of the FWS blocks :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository. I found they had the cheapest price that included postage to Australia. If you would like to buy a copy, here is a link to the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book. Block 31 was made using Carol Doaks Foundation Paper purchased at Book...

This week I thought I would challenge myself by attempting some of the semi hard blocks for the Farmer’s Wife Sampler quilt. The blocks I completed this week are Block 108 Windmill and Block 40 Friendship Block. I already had 108 ready to go so I finished that off but this time took care in aligning the points. I took my time with Block 108 and found it was easier than I thought. I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository. I found they had the cheapest price that included postage to Australia. If you would like to buy a copy, here is a link to the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book. These blocks were made using Carol Doaks Foundation Paper purchased at Book Depository. Next to try the harder blocks...

So far so good i.e. keeping up with 2 FWS quilt blocks a week :). Here are the two I made today: Block 60 Noon & Light and Block 111 Wrench. Still trying to get perfect points. I will succeed one day. LOL maybe the last block for this quilt :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository.
